on board chemical tanker, they r using inert gas during loading
and discharging flamable liquid. why inert gas is used? as we know,
inert gas is not supporting fire. therefore, in this case, the inert
gas is used to be a protection layer above the chemical.

how this inert gas is produce onboard chemical tanker? it produced
by Inert Gas Generator. The IGG will burn a fuel in correct quantities
to produce perfect combustion. Exhaust gas produces contain highly
amount of Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide gas with a very small oxygen
contain.

this exhaust gas will pass trough a cooler to cool down the gas and
as well as a scrubber chamber to remove sulphur and excess carbon.
then, the inret gas is ready to used during loading and discharging
cargos.
